Il Death-Core sta prendendo piede anche nell’underground italiano e i Gardens Of Grief si presentano con un piccolo demo contentente 4 tracce e una intro.
Suonano un Death-Core molto influenzato da band come Sistem Of A Down e a tratti pure da Pantera e Rage Against the Machine.
Testi di buona fattura, che riflettono l’angoscia di vivere tipica dei tempi che corrono ed altre profonde tematiche di natura esistenziale: le idee ci sono, è innegabile, già i primi riff di chitarra della intro sono quantomeno interessanti anche se semplici, e aprono la pista a quello che sara poi il demo vero e proprio.
Gardens Of Grief is a project ejaculated from the sick heads of Cristobal (Andrea from The Raven, Mass Obliteration, Narcosynthesis) and Ciccio (Francesco from Sweet 69), born with the will of doing extreme, unhealthy but also “melodic” music, mixing the simplest ways to death metal with some black, grindcore, thrash and other dwelling stuff in our minds.
The name is a tribute to AT THE GATES’s ep debut, even if the music is quite different, it goes to the same emotions and needs. After some changes, the line-up was made up with Morgan as lead guitar, and also Stefano and Davide as drummer and bassist. The band started playing in the summer of 2005 in Formia(LT). The first demo, STORM was recorded in the spring of 2006 and shows their wish of spitting out in extreme ways all the shit eaten everyday, everything permeated by a black, schizophrenic sense of irony.
Cristobal’s lyrics are about themes like the hate for any kind of religion, the need of challenging with all our strenght the darkest, predominating, aspect of everyday life, the solitude, but also the end of adolescence. After the release of “Storm”, the band got its first split with Davide. In the last days of may a new bass player has already been found (Gianpaolo from Monstera), new reviews have been published on italian Metal Hammer and various webzines and has been decided to sever ties with Stefano. During these days the band is playing with Luca (The Raven, Mass Obliteration) giving a new face to the Storm tracks, with a brand-new power for the live shows. Considered nothin more than a joke till the spilt with Stefano and Davide, now Gardens Of Grief is going to come back as an utterly new band. !!! [Play and download]
